Sadie Wilson Advanced Math Wheel Chair Ramp project I chose this project because it is very relatable to real life. Our school does not have a ramp from the horseshoe to the main lobby. The only one that we have is one that goes into the auditorium. Therefore, if we ever have a student in a wheel chair, they have to go completely around everything. By doing this project, I figured out the best possible place to put a ramp. I utilized many skills during the completion of this project. One skill, for example, would be the skill of measurement. During this project, we measured 3 different places to put a ramp. The measurements had to be as accurate as possible for the best outcome to occur. I also had to factor in the measurements and slope of the ramp. This has prepared me for life after high school because if I am ever faced with a dilemma such as this, I can work through it to fix it. Whatever job I end up at, there could be a person working with me who is in a wheel chair. I may have to give input on how to solve the problem. |
